According to the stele's inscription, this is the tomb of General Ngo, who was bestowed the title of Local Guardian Deity during the reign of Emperor Khai Dinh and was erected by four clans in the village to worship him. This raises many interesting questions. Could the General Ngo mentioned on the stele be related to Ngo Van So, the Grand Marshal of the Tay Son Dynasty, or a different figure? Historically, there are records of a person with the same name serving as an official under the Nguyen Dynasty, leading to much debate on this issue.
