Running at frozen Bramshall Road parkrun, Uttoxeter. Risky parkrun tourism to a Winter Wonderland

This was parkrun tourism at its riskiest! Setting off to drive to a parkrun location far away to run when it's below freezing. There is such a high risk of cancellation but for some reason my gut told me that this parkrun trip would be okay... and luckily we pulled it off! In fact, if I'd stayed at home then I'd have missed parkrun, as my home parkrun at Woodhouse Moor, which is hardly ever cancelled, was cancelled! Once we'd solved the issue of the frozen van door then we set off south as the sun rose. The temperature got colder and colder as we approached Derby. But luckily, Bramshall Road parkrun posted nice and early that they were going to go ahead! What a result! As the temperature dropped below minus five we arrived in a Winter Wonderland with ice formations like none I've ever seen before! I had chosen Bramshall Road parkrun as I am chasing a Wilson Index of over 100 and only needed three numbers to get me there (68,74 and 99)! What a blessing that Bramshall Road parkrun was having it's 74th run! It's a course that on paper looks like your standard three lapper in a park. This run is so much more than that! The course design is exceptional. Multiple chances for high fives, paths that intersect so that you see other parkrunners so much, it felt super friendly, social and supportive! Add in the kindest, friendliest marshals, a Run Director in a tutu, and even bubbles, and you've got the magic that is Bramshall Road parkrun.
