Ed Cycles Lake Apopka Loop Trail

S3E6 The Lake Apopka Loop Trail is not yet a loop. It is 17.4 miles each way of an out-and-back trail. Be aware that it is not paved and that there is very little shade. The rough surface is best enjoyed with low-pressure, wide tires. Join Ed as he enjoys the very scenic ride along the north shore of Lake Apopka. Ed also shows the facilities at each end. Magnolia Park includes a campground, a boat launch area, a basketball court, a sand volleyball court, several picnic shelters and playgrounds. The Eco Center is also at the trailhead. This includes educational displays on the flora and fauna of the lake area, as well as a historical perspective of the decline of the lake water decades ago and the subsequent ongoing restoration of water quality. An enjoyable trail that allows for wildlife viewing and for feeling close to nature! 00:31 intro and Magnolia Park Trailhead 04:57 begin ride 09:56 historic pump house 11:06 Wildlife Drive 15:00 North Shore Trailhead 16:13 Flow-Way pump station 17:06 Flow-Way tower 17:56 Clay Island Trailhead 19:55 Green Mountain Trailhead 22:06 return GPX files for this trail are available on ridewithgps.com at this link: outbound: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/49768728 return: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/49768741
