On our third day in the Thar Desert, we set out to understand the story behind this remarkable species and witnessed another unforgettable encounter with the bird that was once considered for India's national symbol. Along the way, the desert revealed its rich wildlife, from a soaring Eurasian Griffon and delicate desert songbirds to the agile Indian Fox patrolling the scrublands. As the day faded, a chinkara, an Indian Fox, and finally the elusive Indian Desert Cat emerged from the landscape, each adding to a deeper story about survival in one of India's harshest ecosystems. More than a wildlife film, this is a reflection on what it means to lose a species—and why saving the Great Indian Bustard still matters. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 📍 Location: Desert National Park, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India 📅 Filmed: 24 January 2024 — Day 3 🎬 Format: 4K Wildlife Documentary | 25 mins ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ SPECIES FEATURED (8 species) • Eurasian Griffon ★ — Opening soaring raptor of Day 3 • Indian Silverbill ★ — Drinking at a desert water pool • Desert Wheatear ★ — Arid scrubland passerine • Tawny Pipit ★ — Grassland wanderer in the sand • Indian Fox ★★ — The Thar's cunning hunter (two encounters) • Great Indian Bustard ★★★ — Critically endangered; Less than150 remain; 15-min conservation deep-dive • Chinkara ★★ — India's Gazelle in the open desert; coexistence with Fox • Indian Desert Cat ★★★ — Rare closing sighting; Asiatic Wildcat subspecies ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Best experienced on a big screen This film is mastered in 4K Ultra HD.
