Tear down and destroy your altars to Baal before you move forward to your destiny! Brothers and sisters, my dear friends, when God called Gideon and commissioned him to deliver Israel from the hand of Midian, God told Gideon, “Tear down the altar of Baal that belongs to your father, and cut down the Asherah pole that is on it. Then you shall build an altar to the Lord your God.” Gideon took ten of his servants and did as the Lord had said… (Judges 6:25-27). After tearing down and destroying the altar of Baal belonging to his father Joash, Gideon was given a new name, “Jerubbaal—Let Baal contend with him,” and Gideon was clothed with the Spirit of the Lord (Judges 6:32-34). Then, with the help of the Holy Spirit, Gideon reduced his army from 32,000 to 300 men and defeated the Midianite army of 135,000. All the glory for this victory belongs to God. My dear friends, from Abraham to Jesus, including Gideon, the Kingdom of God does not cooperate with the altars of Baal or false gods, nor with any altars that do not glorify God. Indeed, light and darkness cannot coexist because God has separated them eternally (Genesis 1:4). This is why Abraham left the false gods of his father Terah before serving the One True God, who would become Abraham's God (Joshua 24:2-3) and bless him with every kind of blessing. Gideon tore down his father's altar of Baal before winning the victory against Midian. And in the Temple in Jerusalem, Jesus tore down the altars that did not glorify God before being exalted as Lord. My brother, my sister, you cannot go to fight your enemies and claim victory in God's name while holding an altar to Baal in your home. No! You cannot serve God and Mammon or God and Baal (Matthew 6:24). Therefore, the first rule of your success in this battle is to overturn and tear down your altars to Baal, as well as all altars that do not glorify God's name in your heart! Remember that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and must be clean and free from defilement. So, overturn and tear down your altars to Baal before moving forward toward your destiny!
