IRM Memorial Day Weekend 2026

We're back at IRM once again. Today we made a venture out to the Illinois Railway Museum for their annual Memorial Day Weekend and to see Shay 5 operating on the IRM's mainline for the day. While we did see the usual stuff, we managed to get some pretty rare and odd occurrences at the IRM today such as Shay 5 taking a quick spin on the trolley loop to run around her train and we got to hear the horn and bell of BNSF 9400 as the volunteers were doing some work on her, which was a very neat sight to see!
