Today we continue exploring Jerusalem, walking from Dormition Abbey down toward the Jerusalem YMCA, passing through one of the most peaceful and symbolic routes around Mount Zion. Dormition Abbey is a historic Benedictine monastery built in the early 20th century, traditionally linked to the Dormition of the Virgin Mary. It stands as a quiet spiritual landmark overlooking the Old City. From there, the walk descends toward the Jerusalem International YMCA, one of Jerusalem’s most iconic architectural landmarks, known for its distinctive tower and cultural significance in the modern city. This route beautifully connects the sacred atmosphere of Mount Zion with the more modern and urban side of Jerusalem. Along the way, we experience quiet streets, historic views, and the contrast between ancient tradition and contemporary city life.
