Senator Pedro Araya (PPD) opened the possibility of supporting the government's National Reconstruction Plan, despite accusing the administration of trying to pull a fast one on them. Araya had reached an agreement with Finance Minister Jorge Quiroz to support a tax reform that included a 23% corporate tax, but this fell apart after Quiroz lowered it to 22%. Araya is demanding a reduction in the fuel tax and is no longer negotiating with Quiroz, but rather with Claudio Alvarado.
