OTHER PATTERN SHOWN AT BEGINNING OF VIDEO.. There is a tutorial for Version 2 from this chart set which is very similar to the project I showed and you can watch the tutorial here: • Mosaic Crochet Pattern #28 - Work Flat or ... The pattern shown on my WIP is Pattern # 28 version 1 chart. The chart for this is in my Etsy shop, which you can find here: https://www.etsy.com/FiberFoxStudios/... ROW START TIMES: Row 1: 05:00 Row 2: 07:31 Row 3: 09:14 Row Ends: 15:29 Row 4: 16.57 Row 5: 21:01 Row 6: 25:34 Row 7: 29:47 Row 8: 33:32 Row 9: 36:25 REPEAT ROWS 2 through 9 to continue working up. COLOR CHANGES: If you want to swap colors out as you move up on larger projects I recommend doing so when you start the repeat rows over, change color B when repeating row 2; color A can be changed when repeating row 3, maintain the new colors through row 9. PROJECT IDEAS Working FLAT, Suggested starting chains for various projects - counts include +4 at end: Baby Blanket: 116 chains Throw blanket : 172 chains, yarn size will affect total width and the number of repeats is up to you and will determine total length Tote or Throw Pillow: 60 chains, make 2 and seam together or make 5 and create a cube by seaming together Makeup or Notions bag: 32 chains, make 2 and seam together adding a zipper; or for a larger option chain 59, make 2 and seam together Scarf: 32 to 60 chains depending on yarn size used and desired width. I recommend size 3 light weight yarn or smaller for wearables. Table Runner: 60 chains (your starting chain is the width of the runner,, you will work the repeats until desired length is achieved) IN THE ROUND: Makeup or Notions bag/ Clutch: 56 or 84 chains depending on yarn and hook used Throw Pillow: 20" to 24": chain 112 for size 4 yarn with 4.5mm hook or 140 chains with DK and 2.75mm to 3.5mm hook Large Bag/Tote/Pillow: 140 chains for size 4 yarn, 168 chains for DK or smaller with 2.75mm hook AS A BORDER: To use as a border you will work in the round. Count your total number of rows and total stitches. You will work by first marking where to start and stop the pattern on each side, you can then work in the round creating your border. I recommend doing SC around the corners to create a striping effect. Do a standard chain 2 increase at the corners. HOOK SIZE: I am using a 3.5mm hook in this tutorial. This hook is by TooShayCrochetHooks and can be found here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TooShayCroc... I recommend using the below hook sizes depending on yarn used: 3 DK yarn : 2.75mm to 4mm Size 4 Medium/worsted weight: 5mm to 5.5mm. Mixing 3 & 4 weight: 4mm to 4.5mm THE YARN: I'm using size 3 yarn, any brand will work as well as any size. I used Stylecraft Special Double Knit in Dandelion & Mushroom in the video. Note on mixing yarn sizes 3 (DK) & Size 4 (Medium Worsted weight): THE TRICK TO MIXING YARN SIZES IS JUST KEEPING YOUR TENSION EVEN AND USING THE SMALLEST SIZE HOOK RECOMMENDED FOR THE SMALLER YARN! You can use any yarn size you like and can use yarn that is all the same size, you do not have to mix yarn sizes.
