Let’s talk about OVULATION and Sexual PURITY as a Single Christian Girl 😅

NO MEDICAL ADVICE If you feel led by the Lord to fast and pray as a result of watching this video, I encourage you to watch this video first regarding the “what to expect” of fasting and prayer (sharing my personal experience):    • I fasted for a total of 60+ days in 2024, ...   The three “ovulation fasts” I did in 2024 preceding the 21-day fast were “Esther” fasts, so I believe I went 72 hours without any food each time. First “Esther fast” was definitely modified that year to be a liquids only fast, and at least one of them was a dry fast like it was done in the book of Esther (Esther 4:16). The 21-day fast in 2024 was a food fast with only liquids like fruit and vegetable juices and bone broth + electrolytes. So if I remember correctly, four months in a row in 2024, I fasted through ovulation (or possibly at least the beginning of it), and I believe I stayed clear of sexual temptation including erotica, watching pornography, masturbation, maladaptive daydreaming - I found it all repulsive when I was consistently fasting and praying that year. The sister in Christ I referred to in the video who was fasting and praying with me lived in a different state, so seeing her right after my first 21-day fast was God-ordained that year - definitely supported me by helping me stay in my femininity through self-care, worship, good food, and just relaxing amid the spiritual warfare that occurred after the fast (we both had crushes on the guys each of us were told by others were our future husbands, and we were both guarding our hearts). Biblical sisterhood is indispensable when you are a single Christian woman. Isolation is unwise, especially when you are struggling with sexual temptation. *Edit: based on personal experience, it does feel necessary to state that “sisterhood” with female friends (and women in general, including mentorship) who do not share the value of sexual purity will derail you and have a negative impact on your soundness of mind. Their definition of “fun” is not going to produce good fruit in your life. Sisterhood has only ever been a blessing to me on my abstinence journey when it’s consisted of girls who were as committed to waiting for marriage and walking in biblical sexual purity as I was. When the sisterhood I had were not dedicated, it negatively impacted my own commitment to God. Also, though not mentioned in the video, something that has consistently helped me maintain self-control has been hot showers and baths. Hot tubs, jacuzzis, anywhere you can relax (by yourself) in hot water. I found saunas comforting, as well (a gym I went to had a quality sauna). (Excuse the brown dot behind me when I moved to the side at the beginning of the video. My pug likes to rip her mini bed apart and the stuffing of her bed is brown, and that was stuffing.)
