RUMAH SEDERHANA BUNG HATTA DI BUKITTINGGI SUMATRA BARAT

The figure of the father of the proclamation of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, Bung Hatta, is known as a very populist person. Born as a Minangkabau person in the city of Bukittinggi on August 12, 1902, made him a religious person. He was raised with a very strong Islamic nuance. Understandably, Bung Hatta's extended family is known as Islamic figures and scholars in West Sumatra. Jalan Soekarno Hatta Number 37 Bukittinggi, West Sumatra, is the house occupied by Bung Hatta from birth to adolescence. At the age of five, Bung Hatta often studied the Koran at a prayer room not far from his house. This continued into adulthood. In every life of the nation and state, Bung Hatta always adhered to the principles of Islam. However, he never abandoned his Minang culture. The Minang proverb says "Adat basandi Syarak, Syarak basandi Kitabullah". Bung Hatta is a reflection of intelligent and peaceful Islam. . . .
