Family fishing at Tanoura Fishing Port in Wakayama City. Our fishing guide was Shohei Kimura of Fishing Max. Fishing started at 3:30 PM. Tanoura Fishing Port has a parking lot and restrooms. Fishing spots were both within the port and facing offshore. From small fish like horse mackerel and sardines to larger fish like yellowtail, this fishing port offers the best fishing conditions. This time, we aimed for a variety of fish from dusk to night. First, we did some light casting. We lightly cast our special rig and dragged it along the bottom. We caught a succession of Japanese sardines, sea bream, and even a good-sized whiting. Next, we tried sabiki fishing. As the sun began to set, we tried sunset fishing, a trending activity this summer: fishing while the sun was still shining and we enjoyed the cooler weather. We searched for the horse mackerel migration area and chose a spot. Once we cast our rig, we caught everything from small horse mackerel to smaller horse mackerel, making sabiki fishing a great success. After dark, we tried float fishing to catch hairtail. The float sank suddenly, and with a big strike, what appeared...
