Rubén Moreira respalda detención de Ernesto Ruffo y pide investigar red huachicolera

The coordinator of the PRI deputies, Rubén Moreira, supported the arrest of former Baja California governor Ernesto Ruffo Appel for his alleged involvement in a fuel smuggling ring, but requested that the process be conducted with strict adherence to due process. The legislator considered it essential that the investigations get to the bottom of things to identify and punish all those involved in the fuel theft network. Moreira also pointed out that combating this crime requires cooperation between Mexico and the United States, noting that the fuel entered the country from U.S. territory. He stated that it would be impossible to move that volume of hydrocarbons without negligence on the part of authorities in both countries, and therefore insisted that the investigations must extend to the other side of the border.
