Trackmaster Talking Percy Unboxing review and first run

Hi Guys and Gals today we have Trackmaster Talking Percy, This is a suprisingly good engine and I am very happy with it. I got this Talking Percy when I got Talking Diesel they were both from ebay shipped to me from the USA, they were cheaper than our stores here even after the shipping cost so something is rotten in our retail toy sector here in Australia. I was skeptical at first with it being Percy the small engine but the detail and how well it runs and sounds were a big relief and its good in every department as you will see. The speaker is located in the coal truck that is permanently attached, this coal truck also houses the battery compartment that is under the removable top cover. Talking Percy runs on 3xAAA batteries and the first thing I always do with engines that come with batteries already fitted is to swap the batteries for fresh ones. The performance of Talking Percy is quite good running along at a reasonable speed even when pulling 5 empty trucks, I did reduce the load to 3 trucks for the transfer station to operate correctly which it did. The speed is quite reasonable despite the fact that he pulls along a heavy truck that houses the speaker and batteries. In a race with a regular non talking Percy this engine would be slower of course. He did not derail once in the whole time I was filming and this is excellent. The speaker is loud and clear and its easy to hear the whistle from one end of the shed to the other but the phrases can be a bit muffled at a distance which would not really impact play unless you have a super long track. The detail is quite good but not outstanding everything is there but a few extra spashes of paint would have made this an outstanding engine detail wise, I would do the running plate top white and the leaf spring above the front wheels black or silver. These are small complaints though because the truck looks great and so does Percy. Overall a great engine and one I am happy to have in my collection, this Talking engine makes me want to get more Talking engines which I probably will (I have 4 at the moment). I give this Talking Percy from Trackmaster a 9.5/10 overall, with the extra paint details mentioned above it would have gotten a 10 for sure as it runs superbly. Thanks for watching!
