DriverD #8.f – Add a Display to DCC-EX Using an I2C Multiplexer! Welcome to Driver D Trains. Thanks for stopping by! I’m your host Driver D. Our conductor and brakeman Scratchy-C, is currently taking a break. In December 2024. DCC-EX announced the release of the EX-CSB1 Express all-in-one plug-and-play, command station and booster. In my last video we looked at how to add a second display to our DCC-EX command station. In this video we’ll look at how to add even more displays to DCC-EX using I2C multiplexers, and use those displays to show information about our trains. All the examples in this video will work with any DCC-EX command station, not just the EX-CSB1, and we can configure our display using either the Arduino IDE or the EX-Installer. Be sure to check below for links to my other videos, including my video series on assembling a DCC-EX command station, and my series on using JMRI’s DecoderPro app to control our trains, as well as the various websites and products I mention here. Also, if you are enjoying the videos, please leave a comment, and hit the ‘Like’ button. And if you haven’t already, be sure to subscribe to the channel. We’re running the local switch today, so pay attention so we don’t spot anything on the wrong track. In my next video we’ll look at some DIY alternatives to the EX-CSB1. We’ve completed our switch list for today, and dropped everything off in the correct spot. But the freight doesn’t stay put for long, and before we know it we’ll be right back here for pick-ups in the very same place. Until then… Thanks for watching! Well Scratchy, did you enjoy your break? [Meow!] No, they never are long enough, are they. [Meow!] All aboard! [Credits] DriverDTrains ©2025
