Gara - Gara Uang, Rumah Orang Tua Dibakar
PATI - Sukolilo Police officers arrested a man with the initials MI (27) suspected of arson against his father's house. His initials are M (61), in Krasak Hamlet, RT 04 RW 04, Kedungwinong Village, Sukolilo District, Pati Regency, on Saturday evening (June 13, 2026). The incident, which occurred at around 10:40 PM WIB, caused the kitchen of the victim's house to catch fire and damaged several household items. Losses from the incident are estimated at IDR 100 million. Sukolilo Police Chief, AKP Sahlan, S.H., M.M., explained that based on the preliminary investigation, the fire is suspected to have started when the perpetrator lit a match near the gas stove in the kitchen area. The flames then spread to the woven bamboo wall and spread. Local residents who noticed the fire immediately called for help and reported the incident to the police. Sukolilo Police personnel, along with Pati Regency Fire Department personnel, and local residents, moved quickly. The fire was brought under control and prevented from spreading to other buildings. Initial investigation revealed that a dispute had occurred between the victim and his son before the incident. The alleged perpetrator reportedly asked his father for money, but the request was not met. This situation is believed to have triggered an argument, leading to the arson. Police also obtained information that MI, identified as MI, was planning to emigrate to Sulawesi in mid-June 2026. Preliminary suspicions are that this plan was related to a previous request for money from his parents. "The alleged perpetrator has been detained and is undergoing further investigation," said AKP Sahlan when contacted by reporters on Sunday (June 14, 2026). In addition to questioning the perpetrator, investigators have also questioned several witnesses to uncover the motive and ensure that the entire case process is carried out in accordance with applicable law. The Sukolilo Police Chief reminded the public to resolve any family issues through deliberation and good communication. This will prevent them from escalating into actions that could harm themselves or others and lead to legal proceedings," he concluded.
