Today we went on an unforgettable road trip from Guwahati, Assam to Shergaon, Arunachal Pradesh, and it turned out to be one of the most beautiful and authentic food journeys I’ve experienced in India. We started our drive through the lush green landscapes of Assam and stopped in Udalguri for some incredibly refreshing farm-fresh sugarcane juice, made by a kind village couple — simple, natural, and full of energy! For lunch, we pulled over at a local roadside restaurant, where we enjoyed a hearty meal of roti, vegetables, and curry — basic food, but packed with flavor and made fresh. After hours of driving through stunning valleys and mountain roads, we finally reached Shergaon, a peaceful hidden gem in Arunachal Pradesh. We relaxed at a cozy local café with coffee and crunchy snacks, soaking in the calm mountain vibe. To end the day, we had a wholesome homemade dinner at our farmhouse — rice, mixed vegetables, and omelets — simple, comforting, and incredibly satisfying.
