On 1st July 2025, at 39 weeks and 5 days, I gave birth to my second daughter — and this is the full story. From my waters breaking after breastfeeding my toddler to sleep, to contracting in a hospital corridor for two hours without sitting down, to making decisions about pain relief in real time, to the moment she was born and something in me changed forever — this is an honest, unfiltered account of what my second birth actually looked like. My first birth involved an induction, ventouse, an epidural, and every pain relief option going. This time I went as far as I could on a TENS machine and gas and air — and surprised myself completely.
