Bats often inspire fear or distrust, especially due to their association with certain diseases. However, they perform essential functions for the balance of ecosystems and are also key to understanding how infectious diseases arise and spread. What role do they play in nature? What is the ecology of infectious diseases, and what can it teach us about the relationship between human health, wildlife, and the environment? In "Inside Perspective," Romina Andrioli and our columnist, Agricultural Engineer Carlos Amonte, spoke with Alexandra Cravino and Germán Botto, both PhDs in areas related to biological sciences, professors at the Faculty of Sciences, researchers at PEDECIBA, and members of the National System of Researchers. They are currently in Cuñapirú studying bats.
