Gamle Bergen Open Air Museum - Sandviken

Gamle Bergen Open Air Museum is an open-air museum located in the Ytre Sandviken district. It is built around the old pleasure spot "Elsesro" that the shipbuilder Rasmus Rolfsen built for his wife Elsebe The museum was opened in 1949 and is now part of the Bergen City Museum . The open-air museum has buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries that have been moved from different areas of Bergen to this area. The building mass mainly consists of one- and two-storey timber houses with clapboards and tiled roofs.
