In 2911, the Solar System has been colonized and comprises fifty planets connected by space routes, while the dominant culture strongly resembles the world of gangster movies. After winning a huge sum in a casino run by the Bloody Syndicate (a criminal organization that dominates the entire solar system), gambler Bruce "I.C. Blues" Bernstein sets himself a seemingly impossible challenge: to travel to all fifty planets in a single year. If he wins, he will receive a sum so great that it could jeopardize the future of the Syndicate. The bet is accepted by the organization's powerful leader, Bloody God, who wants his money back and is determined to prevent him from winning by any means necessary. To undertake this mission, Bruce assembles the JJ9 team (named in honor of the anniversary of Jupiter's explosion): the formidable marksman Surprise, the pilot Beat, the intuitive Birdy, the young technician Jimmy, and the vivacious Suzy. The team boards the JJ9-III space train (whose inventor D.D. has decided to join the group), capable of transforming into the gigantic robot Sasuraigher, and sets out on a journey that will lead them to confront pirates, mercenaries, bandits, and the ruthless assassins of the Bloody Syndicate, always ready to sabotage their mission. Each planet presents different cultures, landscapes, and dangers, transforming the journey into a continuous adventure of chases, duels, and spectacular battles. As time runs out, the team will have to rely on courage, friendship, and determination to overcome every obstacle. Loosely inspired by "Around the World in 80 Days," the series blends science fiction, space western, and mecha, telling an epic adventure where the journey is as important as the destination and freedom is more valuable than any wealth.
