Soloing Secrets - Eddie Van Halen

Hey everyone! Here's the next episode of Soloing Secrets with Eddie Van Halen. I've featured the late-great Edward Van Halen more times than anyone else on my channel, and this is technically the sixteenth video I've created as a tribute to him. This lesson is a deep-dive into his celebrated and highly-influential lead guitar style - so let's dive in! Once the initial opening jam is performed and broken down, you'll find that this lesson revolves around something very specific in Eddie's playing style. And that's his frequent use of single-string scales and arpeggios in his music. It was common to hear Eddie use these single-string ideas for various tapping licks, position-shifting ideas, tremolo picking runs, not to mention those lazy melodic single-string phrases at the end of songs, and much more! The ideas shared here include sections of songs such as Spanish Fly, Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love, Hot For Teacher, Ice Cream Man, and more! We're also hitting one of my favorite EVH's solos, and that's the unreleased early demo of the song Big Trouble - which eventually became the song Big River on A Different Kind Of Truth, but we're hitting the '70s version of that song - which was when they were still recording demos with Gene Simmons back in 1976!
