After more than 2 years of planning and anticipation, the Total Ballast Removal Machine was delivered to MRS by the Swiss manufacturer Matisa. The equipment allows for the extraction of damaged ballast under the tracks and its replacement with new ballast without the need to dismantle the railway line. This is just the first of 26 large machines to be acquired for the Major Track Interventions project, which will renovate more than 500 km of our network over the next 11 years. Watch the video to see how the unloading operation went, which mobilized more than 30 employees to receive the equipment at the port of Rio de Janeiro and transport it to P2-14 in Barra Mansa (RJ).
