🕯This room [Instagram] @kamekobo1974   / kamekobo1974   Location: Tokyo Layout: 2LDK (54 sqm) Living with 4 What I kept in mind when decorating this room: I love the 1960s, when my mother was enjoying her youth, and the 1980s, when I was a child, so I bought an apartment complex with the same layout as the one I lived in as a child. Just remembering the atmosphere and objects that were in my room back then makes my heart flutter! I've recreated the atmosphere of those days, the Showa era, and am living surrounded by my favorite things. What I like about it: I'm particular about living with items that evoke a Showa era, such as furniture, miscellaneous goods, cooking utensils, and tableware that were in my parents' house from my childhood and that I inherited because they no longer use them, as well as items I bought at thrift stores, flea markets, and vintage shops. I also love the kitchen, which has not been renovated since the property was purchased, and by adding retro stickers, I have enhanced the Showa-era feel and made cooking more enjoyable. Difficulties and things I'm glad I did when building the house: I'm not a perfectionist, so of course I use convenient appliances like a TV and microwave. I try to blend in with the Showa-era feel by hanging lace and adding retro stickers. Having too many things can easily make the space look cluttered, but by maintaining a unified Showa-era feel, making use of wall storage, and using only one low table on the floor⁡, I was able to create a clean, tidy impression.
