This station was called that until 1910 when it was rebuilt for the first time. It was eventually rebuilt for the second time in 1932 when the Piccadilly line started running through here. From here, the Piccadilly line operates west towards Heathrow Airport, Rayners Lane and Uxbridge and east towards Central London, Kings Cross, Arnos Grove and Cockfosters. The District line operates west towards Ealing Broadway and east towards Victoria, Embankment, Tower Hill, Barking and Upminster. Between Acton Town and Barons Court, both lines run alongside each other with the Piccadilly Line operating non-stop between here and Hammersmith except during early mornings and late nights when trains also stop at Turnham Green.
