The Best of J. B. Cramer - Flawless Fingering

Johann Baptist Cramer (1771-1858) was, alongside Hummel and Beethoven, part of the trio of greatest pianists of the late classical period. An English composer of German origin, he studied under Clementi, further evolving the London school of fortepiano performance which differed from Hummel's more lyrical Viennese approach. Beethoven considered him to be a perfect technician on the keys, which earns him the epithet "Mister Flawless Fingering". 84 Études, Opp. 30 and 40 no. 65 in E Minor (1807-08) 1:04 Rondo Brilliant on a Venetian Air (1830): Stuani Grande sonate pour le piano-forte in D Major, Op. 20 (1809): Banjac 7:23 Largo assai 9:03 Allegro quasi presto 12:18 Aria con Variazioni Keyboard Sonata in A minor ("L'Ultima"), Op. 53 (1812): Khouri 33:25 Introduction: Grave 36:11 Moderato: Energico ed espressivo assai 47:31 Andantino quasi allegretto 51:04 Rondo: piu tusto moderato Piano Quintet No. 3 in Bb Major, Op. 79 (1832): Nepomuk Fortepiano Quintet (Fukuda, fortepiano; Polman, violin; Smalt, viola; Insinger, violoncello; Smithuijsen, double bass) 58: 16 Allegro moderato ma spiritoso 1:06:49 Adagio cantabile 1:12:12 Rondo.
