Why does grief feel like fear?

C S Lewis was famously quoted to say this "I never knew grief felt so much like fear" which is absolutely true. Loss in its many forms brings layers of stress, pain and fear that we don't expect and find hard to not only understand but then to cope with. Today we are exploring all the different ways that anxiety and fear affect us physiologically, mentally and spiritually by looking at why this happens when we lose someone or something that is precious to us. Understanding what is going on in our grieving brains helps us to navigate grief and not feel overwhelmed, crazy or isolated. We also look at ways to deal with these fears and anxieties. Sharing the journey helps to build grief awareness and empower us to support those around us who are experiencing heartbreaking loss. #copingwithgrief #anxietyingrief #whyamifeelingfear #lossofotherhalf #christiangriefsupport #bereavementofdivorce #miscarriagegrief #petloss #disenfranchisedloss
