Tribal Park Allies: Sea Kayak Aliance

Eric Boros grew up paddling kayaks built by his father. He returned to the West Coast as a Level 3 guide and trainer — and eventually as President of the Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of BC, a non-profit dedicated to supporting and certifying professional sea kayak guides throughout British Columbia. The Alliance knows that guiding on this coast means guiding within Tla-o-qui-aht territory — the ḥaaḥuułi of the ƛaʔuukʷiʔatḥ ḥaw̓iiḥ — where the waters have been cared for and governed since time immemorial. As a ƛaʔuukʷiʔatḥ Tribal Parks Ally, SKGABC is helping build a professional guiding culture that doesn't just share the beauty of this coast, but understands why that beauty exists and what it asks of those who travel through it.
