2026 R2AK Race to Alaska

It was a perfect day for the start of the R2AK Race from Victoria’s Inner Harbour to Ketchikan, Alaska. Onlookers cheered from the Breakwater as the rowers, paddlers, peddlers and sailors left the harbour. The beautiful Vancouver Island Coastline, Salish Sea, Trial Islands and Olympic Mountains are stunning back drops. The R2AK is a unique, engine-free, unsupported adventure race along the spectacular coast of British Columbia and southeast Alaska. Competitors travel by sail, oar, paddle, pedal or any combination of human and wind power, navigating strong currents, changing weather, and remote coastlines.
