NIO rejects MP’s claims spooks ‘leveraged’ disgraced Donaldson

The UK government has rejected as “distasteful nonsense” an MP’s claims that spooks may have used Jeffrey Donaldson’s crimes as “leverage” in a deal to restore power sharing in 2024. Donaldson has been found guilty of 18 sex abuse charges – including one count of rape - against two women when they were children between 1985 and 2008. MP for North Antrim Jim Allister told the Nolan Show it was “inconceivable the government was unaware of his proclivities and the idea of such being used as leverage is far from fanciful". The DUP has also hit out at the allegations describing their former leader as “filthy and vile” and rejected “any notion” that political decisions were influenced. The DUP have also said Mr Allister should present any evidence to the police.
