In this free Excel video lesson, we'll learn how to create a timesheet in Excel to record multiple employees at once. With this timesheet, we can record all employees together in the same table for several different dates and calculate the total hours worked, total overtime, and total hours owed. Let's start by creating a custom header to help us achieve a more professional layout for our timesheet. The registration table will contain information such as date, month, year, week, employee name, clock-in, clock-out, standard hours, total worked, overtime, and status. The date column is where we'll record the clock-in date, and the month, year, and day of the week will automatically be calculated according to Excel. The employee name column is where we'll enter the employee's name. The clock-in and clock-out columns are where we'll record the clock-in and clock-out times for each clock-in. The standard hours column is where we'll enter the standard working hours for that date. For example: Monday through Friday, the standard working hours are 8:00 hours per day, so you should record 8 hours; on Saturday, the standard working hours are 4 hours, so you should use four hours. The Total Worked column will be another automatic calculation that will add up the total hours each employee worked on each date. The Overtime column will calculate both due and overtime hours. The status column will display three options: overtime, due hours, and regular hours. Each of these statuses will have an automatic color: green, red, or yellow. Furthermore, in the header, we'll create an automatic summary to dynamically total the information. That is, whenever we filter the table, the total will be automatically updated. We'll use several important Excel formulas and functions, as well as important tools.
