Uinta Highline Thru Hike Pt 1

We start our 107 mile thru hike of the beautiful Unita Highline Trail in northeastern Utah. The Unita Mountains are a unique mountain range that runs east to west and not north to south. The Highline trail is a trail that runs along the peaks of the mountains. Most of the trail is above 10,000 feet and above tree line. Due to the altitude and the east/west orientation, the trail is more susceptible to weather and lightening. On this hike, I am joined by my friends Miyagi and The Mule. Our plan is to hike the 107 miles in 8 days. We do not have a resupply and there is a long portion with no water. We start carrying 8 days of food and additional water capacity.
