Don’t Waste Your Money…You Can Do This Yourself! Monthly Boat Maintenance

Boats like to be run. When they don’t run for a while, things may start to fail. We live in Key West where there are many beautiful sandbars and A LOT of shallow water, so we usually end up taking our tender out instead of our Sea Ray Sundancer. As much as we love our boat, we just don’t run it as much as we’d like to sometimes, so we’ve implemented a monthly maintenance routine to keep things in good working condition. Although some of it applies mainly to inboard boats like our Sea Ray, most tasks can be loosely applied to other boats as well. We have other preventative maintenance routines that we perform as well from time to time, such as checking safety gear, batteries, impellers, propellors, zincs, windlass and more. This video, however, covers only our main MONTHLY routine including: -deodorizing and cleaning tanks, drains and sump -running engines, generator, electronics and bow thruster -air conditioner system check -oil check and more.
