Cell type / Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic cell
Cells are the basic units of life, and all living organisms are made up of cells. Based on their structure and complexity, cells are classified into two main types: prokaryotic cells and eukaryotic cells. π¬ Prokaryotic cells are simple and small cells that do not have a true nucleus or membrane-bound organelles. Their genetic material is found in a region called the nucleoid. Examples include bacteria and archaea. 𧬠Eukaryotic cells are larger and more complex cells that have a true nucleus enclosed by a nuclear membrane and contain membrane-bound organelles such as mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi apparatus, and chloroplasts (in plants). Examples include plant cells, animal cells, fungal cells, and protists. In this video, you will learn: βοΈ Definition of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells βοΈ Structural differences between them βοΈ Presence and absence of nucleus and organelles βοΈ Ribosome types (70S vs 80S) βοΈ Examples of organisms for each cell type βοΈ Importance of cell types in biology
