Kit Crashing S2 E03: Deploy Plant Mixes (PART 1)

In this episode, we dive into the world of matrix planting using Land Kit. Building on a previous project that Ishaan worked on, we explore how to translate traditional planting mix documentation using a more data-driven model. We start by building a CSV plant database, learning how parameters like 'weight', 'spread', and 'cluster radius' control the distribution and visual representation of different species (like shrubs, meadow grasses, and wetlands). We then bring those mixes into Rhino, apply them to specific zones and experiment with both organic and patterned layouts. We also leverage the workflow to extract useful site data, like live area calculations.
