Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto revealed that three strategic state-owned enterprises in the defense sector, namely PT PAL Indonesia, PT Pindad, and PT Dirgantara Indonesia, were about to be sold to foreign parties before he banned the plan. Prabowo emphasized that these three state-owned companies actually needed to be revived to strengthen the national defense industry. The results are already visible: PT PAL is now capable of producing advanced warships, including submarines, while PT Pindad recently secured a weapons procurement contract from Saudi Arabia.
