Claire Delbos: L'âme en bourgeon, huit mélodies pour soprano & piano | L.E. Nordskog, S. Bakke
Claire Delbos (real name: Louise-Justine) was the first wife of the composer Olivier Messiaen and was a talented composer in her own right. Of her obscure compositions, these songs "L'âme en bourgeon" (The Budding Soul) for soprano and piano are set to eight poems written by her mother-in-law Cécile Anne Marie-Antoinette Sauvage (dedicated to Olivier Messiaen, who was then unborn) who passed away before these were written (26 August 1927). They are dedicated to her memory. The photo in the video depicts her on the left with her son Pascal Emmanuel and her husband Olivier next to her. The works are played by Liv Elise Nordskog, singing the soprano part; and Signe Bakke on piano. 0:00 I. Dors 1:28 II. Mon coeur revient a son printemps... 3:23 III. Je suis là... 6:45 IV.
