THE ENEMY WITHIN

Right from the inception of the world, darkness has stood as opposition to light. Since the days of our forefather, Adam,' unrighteousness has been a permanent opposition to righteousness as well as the lies of Satan to the truth of God. There is opposition everywhere. There is opposition in your life, in your family, in your marital life, career, and even in the church, there is opposition on the outside of you and there is opposition on the inside of you, but the most painful of these oppositions is the one in the heart. If there is opposition everywhere and not in the heart, you can still find some peace within you. Beloved, the greatest battles of your life are not always fought outside… Some of the fiercest battles are happening inside you! You can bind witches… You can cast out demons…But if the enemy is still operating within, you will keep losing battles you should have won! The greatest sabotage is not from enemies without — It is from the enemy within! The enemy within is anything inside you that resists God’s will: The Flesh-Pride-Anger- Lust- Bitterness- Unforgiveness- Doubt. It is the silent voice that says: “Do it your own way… God can wait!” YOUR HEART CAN BETRAY YOU. Jeremiah 17:9 says your heart is deceitful! Not everything you feel, is true. Not every desire is divine. Many people say: “I’m following my heart…” But your heart, if not surrendered, can lead you to destruction! The greatest betrayal is self-betrayal! There are two forces: The flesh (your natural desires) The Spirit (God’s will) They are in constant conflict! That’s why: You want to pray… but you feel lazy. You want to forgive… but anger rises. You want holiness… but temptation hits. You are not just fighting demons… You are fighting tendencies within! The greatest enemy is not outside – it is an unguarded heart. There is a battle that is more dangerous than enemies outside — it is the enemy within.
