【食べめぐ　ラーメン】#178　茨城県土浦市　魚長飯店　荒川沖店【土浦の香港を目指した、昭和37年創業の老舗中華料理店の2号店が荒川沖にオープン!!】

This is the 178th installment of the series, and this time we're featuring Uocho Hanten Arakawaoki branch, which opened in December 2025 in a new restaurant building right in front of the station, about a 3-minute walk from the east exit of Arakawaoki Station on the Joban Line in Tsuchiura City, Ibaraki Prefecture. I'd wanted to visit the main branch in Tsuchiura for quite some time, but it opened a little late at the time, so I never had the chance. However, I heard they opened a branch in Arakawaoki, near my home, so I finally went. (2-2-18 Arakawaoki Higashi, Tsuchiura City, Ibaraki Prefecture, L/B Square 203) The menu is probably the same as the main branch. Since it opened in 1962 (Showa 37), they offer a wide range of dishes, from traditional Japanese-style Chinese cuisine (such as Tenshinhan and Hiyashi Chuka) to authentic Chinese dishes rarely seen in local Chinese restaurants. They have a rich selection of stir-fried dishes, including fried rice, and various types of ramen, and it's interesting that they also have many different kinds of dumplings. They also have a dim sum menu, and you can enjoy tea there. Also, the main branch is open late into the night and seems to focus on alcohol, and this branch is similar; many of the tenants in the building are bars, so it's probably a similar atmosphere. From the way the staff spoke, they all seemed to be from China. I hear that even within the People's Republic of China, there are many different languages... I couldn't tell which one they were speaking, of course. So, I thought it was quite interesting to be able to eat Japanese-style ramen made by people from China. Incidentally, in Hong Kong, "Yu Chang" apparently refers to the sushi and sashimi specialty shop "Yu Chang Sushi Specialty Shop" mainly operating in the Tuen Mun area. I don't really understand it, but I wonder if they named the shop after that?
