WHY TAKING SPACE IS IMPORTANT! | Overwatch Spectating
So going back to your post, the way you want to position is always forward to take space. This lets your team do their jobs better. Always. Take. Space. Without dying yourself of course. Unfortunately, as Ramattra and being in 5v5 you can't really peel for your backline. I appreciate you looking back to check your team when they're in danger, but leaving the front to go help them is 99% of the time the WRONG play. There was even a time during your first point defense you turn around to help Ana, only to get melted by 3 heroes you turned your back on. The best thing you can do is backline trade, especially when your teammates are dying ( out of your control) what you can control is trying to take down someone with you. Rammatra is a brawl hero with some / limted poke. Maps like Junkertown are terrible for you because of the large amounts of high ground and long range sight lines. In the future, I highly recommend choosing most Control Point, Flash Point, or Push maps because they tend to be maps with close range fights, where Ram really shines! Going into your actual replay. The number one mistake I saw you make was not taking space. I see a lot of tanks make this mistake in low to average ranks. When you win a team fight, do not ever just sit on the cart / point / whatever on attack or defense. You needed to push up. Instead, we let the enemy team walk up to the cart several times and just use all their ults to overwhelm you and your team and win the fights and eventually the game. There was ONE instance where you did this correctly and it was at the beginning the 2nd point defense. The enemy Mei and Sierra had to use their ults to get past you guys, the problem was you were trying to force a 2v5 scenario instead of full-on retreating to fully regroup. That's what you needed to do by taking space. You also ended up letting several teammates die due to lack of taking space. I cannot stress enough how important it is for tanks to take space. If you start doing that, safely. Easy ticket to gold. Then we can start talking about Javelin aim and Terra Surge usage on Orisa. And all the other mechanics as well, but it all begins with you take space properly. Hope this helps, good luck on your games. I stream daily on Twitch, sometimes Overwatch 2, sometimes other stuff.
