Kent Coast Hike Part 8 🇬🇧 Deal-Folkestone | The Beginning of the End...Or the End of the Beginning?

Filmed July 2023 During the worst English summer in living memory, I headed out in gale force winds to tackle my final walk along the Kent Coast. I started in Deal and it didn't take long before I'd passed through Walmer and Kingsdown before heading onto the White Cliffs of Dover. With fantastic views across the channel to France and a coastline dripping with history, even the gale force winds couldn't knock my spirit. I pressed on past Dover town centre and decided to camp in Samphire Hoe Nature Reserve. This wasn't easy as the wind and terrain made finding a camping spot very difficult. I settled for a spot behind the sea wall, and hunkered down in the 50mph+ winds. I didn't try to sleep until around 1am, after reading for around 4 hours straight. A few hours later I was up and ready to have a small brekkie before heading out across the cliffs again and the finish line at Folkestone. That concludes an amazing 14 days and 240+ miles of hiking the Kent Coast. Onto the next county! #kentcoast #kent #ukhike
