Madison Horn Fest 2026, Kalinowski's Supercells, Lowther PM2A Conicals & Western Electric 12A Clones

On this episode, we interviewed the incomparable John Kalinowski, proprietor and organizer of the Inaugural Madison Horn Festival held at the OVERTURE CENTER FOR THE ARTS at 201 STATE ST., MADISON, WISCONSIN on May 23, 2026. We had a chance to pick John's brain on horn loudspeakers as he showed off three of his outrageous, holy-smokes designs. 1. 49 cell multicell horns and B&C DCX 464 Coaxial compression driver with 21 inch SB woofer 2. 5 feet circular conical horns with Lowther PM2A Full Range Driver 3. Western Electric 12A clones with Fostex FE-166 ESR Full Range Driver. We close the episode with David Jensen. Grandson of the great Peter Jensen. Founder of the Jensen loudspeaker company and the designer of many innovative products at the start of the High Fidelity rush. Many great speakers use Jensen drivers. Jensen also came out with their versions of the Shearer horn, the Imperial Folded Horn system and the famous Ultraflex cabinet, which later became the ONKEN.
