Why make a new year's resolution, when I can just wang it all together into a Japanese Daruma Doll?! He is much better than a piece of paper that sits in a drawer, as he sits at the edge of my studio keeping an ever vigilant gaze cast upon me, making sure I work hard in 2026. Inspired by the Daruma Doll, I wanted to be able to craft my own version of this iconic Japanese talisman in print form. Of course starting late on the project, it had to be simple and easy to carve and print. I finally bit the bullet in this video and offered up a bit more of myself than normal at the end. Though short, it feels like a monumental step for myself. Normally, I spend so much time with just the asmr sound stylings of these videos, I can't begin to bring myself to actually talk. A brief outtro, that feels okay.
