How our family handled a 30-minute seizure and what we did to stop it.
In 2021, Ben was diagnosed with brain cancer. He had emergency surgery to relieve the pressure the tumor was putting on his brain stem. This medical intervention caused right side paralysis and daily seizures for Ben. Although he is winning his fight against the cancer using holistic medicine, there has been no western medicine or holistic medicine that has been able to stop the seizures caused by the surgery. The purpose of sharing these intimate videos is to bring awareness to what it is like for families fighting terrible diseases, like epilepsy. By educating, we can promote an understanding and encourage support for individuals living with epilepsy. Knowledge empowers communities to provide better care, offer assistance during seizures, and create a more inclusive and compassionate environment. Please like and share the video so people can have a greater understanding of what epilepsy may look like. It is not all drop to the ground and convulse. Sometimes they can look like simple motor-tics. Sometimes the person can speak. Ways to help the people you love help the people they love: 1. Offer to baby-sit so parents can get a little break 2. Be a listening ear for those who are struggling 3. Coordinate a meal sign-up calendar for new parents or a family in need 4. Organize a block party so families can meet each other 5. Start or participate in a carpool to help families 6. Ask a family if they need something picked up the next time you run to the store 7. Run an errand, shovel snow, or do yardwork for a parent in your neighborhood 8. Invite a family to your home for dinner 9. Donate children’s used clothing, furniture and toys for use by another family 10. Don’t give up on them! TOP TIPS FOR SURVIVAL – for the parents trying to keep their children safe and alive: 1. Do something for yourself every day - a walk, a bath, a nice meal - whatever you can to give yourself some nourishment 2. Yoga or gentle stretching to get some head space and tune in to your body 3. Meditation 4. Talking to friends - sharing the load 5. Asking for help - find someone who has been through it or understands the law 6. Going to the doctor - if you need medication to help see you through - do it! 7. Get enough sleep 8. If you can, get coached – awareness is crucial. How you are doing? What is your next step? 9. Have positive friends that help lift you up – avoid anyone who doesn’t!! 10. Stay strong, focus on the outcome needed, don’t take no for an answer and keep going 11. Remember everything is transient, this too will pass. #epilepsy #epilepsyawareness #epilepsywarrior #seizures #epilepsyadvocate #epilepsysucks #epilepsyfighter #epilepsystrong #autism #chronicillness #epilepsysupport #cerebralpalsy #endepilepsy #epilepsyeducation #seizure #seizureawareness #seizuressuck #epilepsylife #seizuredisorder #cureepilepsy #invisibleillness #epileptic #mentalhealth #love #anxiety #repost #epilepsyawarenessmonth #adhd #disability #epilepsia #braincancer #cancer #stroke #TBI #story #viralvideo #help #medical #pediatriccancer #kidsgetsicktoo #kidsgetcancertoo
