I Returned to Koh Kood’s Hidden Fisherman Village Years After My Accident 🇹🇭

📍 Ao Yai Fisherman Village, Koh Kood (Ko Kut), Thailand Today I explored Ao Yai Fisherman Village, one of the most authentic and fascinating communities on Koh Kood. This visit was much more than a simple walk through a fishing village. Years ago, after a serious motorbike accident in Thailand that left me with broken ribs and a punctured lung, I found myself stranded on the south side of Koh Kood. During that difficult time, I spent a night near what is now known as Noochy Seafood, a place I’ll never forget. Returning years later was surreal. Walking through Ao Yai again brought back memories I never expected to revisit. I explored the village waterfront, spoke with local residents, watched fishermen going about their day, and visited both Noochy Seafood and Chonthicha Seafood, two well-known spots along the harbor. Unlike many tourist destinations, Ao Yai still feels incredibly raw and authentic. Wooden homes stand over the water, fishing boats line the docks, seafood restaurants sit directly above the harbor, and daily life continues much the same way it has for generations. One of the highlights was simply slowing down and talking with people in the community while exploring the maze of walkways that connect this unique village.
