On May 19, 2026, I walked around the Asia Culture Center, ACC, and the former Jeonnam Provincial Office in Gwangju. ACC is a place that embraces the historic site of the former Jeonnam Provincial Office, while also serving as an open cultural space where exhibitions, performances, and relaxation come together. The former Jeonnam Provincial Office, which has long held the memories of Gwangju, has now reappeared after restoration work, and around it stretches a wide plaza where citizens can walk, gather, and spend time. As night fell, soft lights and the glow of the city filled the ACC area. Just like Gwangju’s nickname, “The City of Light,” the plaza was filled with warm illumination, and people were slowly enjoying their time within it.
