Nauticat 38 S/Y Nina, fjord sailing Sunday 29/11-2020

Just a short Sunday trip for a few hours. Normally it would be cold and snow at this time, so why not take advantage of an okay Sunday. At this time of the year we only have about 5 hours of daylight. Wind speed was between 4 and 8 meters per second, roughly 8-16 knots. “S/y Nina” is about 12 tons and needs some wind to get going. Tacking takes a while, and she doesn’t point to well into the wind. But our sails are old, and also we need to practice🙂. We try to keep her at 45 degrees or more to the wind to keep up the speed, at 60 degrees she’s like a train. The area is about 67 degrees north, well north of the Arctic circle.
