In this secluded Kutir, in Rishikesh by the banks of the sacred Ganges river, Swami Sivananda used to engage himself with intense Sadhna. The object of Sadhana is to release life from the limitations with which it is bound.Swami Sivananda practiced intensed Sadhana in this kutir to reach moksha, or spiritual liberation. Gurudev's Kutir was situated at the banks of river Ganges where he practised spiritual discipline, that involves deep meditation, self-discipline, and efforts to reach Self-realization. In this Gurudev's Kutir, one must witness Bhajans session at 5.30 pm followed by Ganga Aarti which contains that spiritual air and vibrations.
