944 Turbo Electrical Nightmare? | Removing the 38-Year-Old DME Engine Wiring Harness
In this video, I tackle two major reliability issues on my 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo (951) — starting with the removal of the original, 38-year-old DME wiring harness. Aging wiring harnesses are a huge and often overlooked problem on classic Porsches. Heat, vibration, and time can cause brittle insulation, internal breaks, and intermittent electrical issues that are nearly impossible to diagnose. Rather than chasing ghosts, I remove the factory DME harness and ship it off to Kroon Wire Harnesses in the Netherlands, one of the most trusted names in classic Porsche wiring restoration.
