944 Turbo Update | Intercooler Clean, Turbo Install & A Costly Mistake

The 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo project continues… and this one didn’t go as planned. After chasing low vacuum, crankcase pressure issues, and oil in the intake, I start this episode by cleaning out the intercooler to remove built-up oil and contaminants. From there, it’s time to reinstall the turbo and begin putting everything back together. But then… disaster strikes. While replacing the oil thermostat off camera, a socket extension came loose and slammed into the header panel—leaving a large chip in the paint. Not exactly the result I was hoping for. Still, this is part of the journey. I’d rather have a running, driving car with a few battle scars than a perfect garage queen that never gets sorted.
